Staying at home!

Day 75

Today has been spent relaxing at home and doing very little. It's been very enjoyable!

Keith went to Tesco this morning as he never went to do our big weekly shop on Thursday as normal. Mike starts his new job on Monday and so will need packed lunches every day. It's going to take some getting used to after so many months of not working!

Sophie and I cooked a cheese and asparagus omelette for breakfast and the rest of the morning and early afternoon was spent pottering about. We did have plans to go out but after the queues of last weekend, I said it just wasn't worth it.

The weather today has been a mixture of sudden heavy downpours and periods of intense blue sky and sunshine, so it made it very interesting! We even had several rumbles of thunder in the afternoon which seemed to come out of nowhere!

Sophie and I played cards in the afternoon and Keith came and sat with us, in between watching the horse racing, which started last week behind closed doors. We had a conversation about dinner tonight because we'd planned on a takeaway and we all fancied a pizza from Papa John's in Kingsthorpe. On the website, however, they weren't doing collections and they would never deliver out as far as we are! We looked at the Kettering branch and we were able to get a delivery via Just Eat, but in the end we decided to enjoy a Chinese takeaway from the place in Broughton again.

Towards the evening Sophie and I had a pamper session and we put on face masks:

Sophie's was such a vivid colour that she thought it was going to stain her face!

We ordered our Chinese and, as before, it turned up on time and was delicious. As a treat after dinner we watched the Oscar winning film, Parasite, which we all enjoyed very much. Sophie and I had meant to go and see it at Lings back in March, but before we could, the cinema was closed. When will be able to go again, I wonder?

We finished the evening watching Casino Royale, which reminds me, I need to order some more films to continue our James Bond fest!
