Warriors...come out to plaaay!

Sophie had an appointment at the gym this morning for a wax treatment so I went with her and sat in the car while she was there. It reminded me of the morning we went to the gym to see "Toeman" as I'd parked in exactly the same place and it made me feel a bit depressed! How I wish I could sometimes turn back time!

After her beauty appointment we popped to Next but we were too early to buy anything (11am was the earliest) so we went upstairs to Costa and had a coffee. As soon as we were able to, we went and did some shopping and then called into Boots before heading to the Weston Favell Centre. Sophie changed some sterling into Euros as she is off to Valencia on Tuesday with her friend, Alice.

We sped home to find Mike and Keith gone. Last night, Mike brought a friend home and they had given her a lift home...to Daventry! We didn't have very long as we had booked to see The Warriors at the Northampton Filmhouse at 2pm and they arrived back with just enough time to have a shower and get ready!

We managed to park in Albion Place and raced over to the cinema but we had plenty of time. The Warriors is one of Keith's favourite films and celebrates its 40 year anniversary this year. I had never seen it all the way through but both Sophie and Mike have enjoyed it in the past and were looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.

I loved watching it and really enjoyed seeing The Warriors trying to get back to their own turf at Coney Island! It was a bit sobering to think that most of the actors would now be in their late 60s/early 70s!

After the film we walked up to the St Giles Street Alehouse and had a couple of drinks. Outside it had started to rain so definitely not a sunny Sunday! This new pub is very small and only has a handful of tables but the beer was very good according to Mike and Keith!

Back home it was time to relax and Sophie decided to print off her boarding passes for Tuesday. I was stuffing popcorn before she printed them out and a small bit went down the back of the printer...it completely jammed the machine and Sophie started to panic that she wouldn't be able to print anything! Keith and I fiddled around with it and discovered a small panel on the bottom of the printer that is there to help with blockages. Thankfully we removed the now squashed bit of popcorn and printed the passes with no further problems! Phew!
