Anniversary celebrations!

I was mightily glad when 3pm came today and I finished work. It had been a shift of niggly problems and I was glad to go straight home as Mike hadn't been at work again today.

I must confess to having a nap and when Sophie arrived home Keith and I opened our cards and we were delighted to receive a bottle of Champagne and chocolates! Wonderful! To celebrate we had a drink and a game of cards in the conservatory, which was a real treat as all four of us played.

We enjoyed a delicious chilli con carne for dinner and I suggested to Sophie that we walk around the estate with Monty and go and see the horses which are back in the field.

It was a beautiful evening and we dropped some loaf bags off at a neighbour's house - we have embraced recycling as a community and our bread bags, crisp and snack packets and lots of other items are being sent off to be recycled!

When we reached the gate we could see one horse in the distance and Monty slipped under the fence and went into the field. Within minutes all five horses had come over to say hello and didn't seem to mind that we hadn't got any carrots or apples with us. We had a pat and a chat to them and our local dog walker, Danni, appeared, with tiny poodly Brian! She was house-sitting while Brian's owners were on holiday so we had a good chat and then set off to walk around the rest of the estate and drop off a carrier bag full of crisp packets.

It was a really gorgeous evening but there was an undeniable nip in the air and you can tell that Autumn is not far away!
