More cleaning!

Keith and I had an appointment this morning with B&Q to look at having a new en-suite bathroom installed so it was a bit of a rush all of us having to get out of the house by 8.15am! Mike said he didn't have any school trousers and Sophie had to print off some notes for uni so it was a bit stressful!

We dropped the kids off and drove to B&Q where we had a look at mops...We wanted one that could extend as although the conservatory roof was a lot cleaner, we wanted to have another go when the weather improves and an extendable mop would be much more helpful!

We were a little early for our appointment but a very nice man showed us to the designer's office and brought me a cup of coffee, which was lovely. B&Q have a very good design process where you key in the measurements of the room and then pick out the bathroom fittings. At the end of the consultation you get to see the room in 3D. The price came in at just under our budget but when the installation man comes out in a couple of weeks the price will vary as we know for a fact that the floorboards in the room have rotted because of the shower leaking over the years. We were told there was a 12 week lead time for the work to be completed but there wasn't a lot we can do about that. We paid £50 for the survey to be done and thanked the man who helped us with the design. There isn't a great deal of changes but we have gone for Vistelle panelling in the shower enclosure rather than tiles and we both wanted more tiling to the walls and floor. I've also ordered a heated towel rail, something I've yearned for for ages!

After B&Q we popped to Jones's and bought an extendable mop there, and lots of other things before heading home where I cleaned the house. Yesterday, while Keith was leaning out of our bedroom window to clean the very top part of the conservatory, he made a bit of a mess on the carpet below the window, which was also dirty with dried water droplets. I cleaned the window and the windowsill and then just carried on with the rest of the house.

It's been a beautiful day today so I managed to get out in the garden for half an hour and I potted up my violas and the little purple plant I bought on Saturday. Roll on Spring!
