Cooling off...

Thankfully, today has been a lot cooler, especially during the evening, but the forecast thunderstorms and rain didn't arrive.

I had a busy day, with Georgie coming in in the afternoon to work with Paula who was covering for Polly. She was delighted to learn that he is planning to come in on Saturday to see how the business works over the weekend so she had a big smile on her face when Sophie and I left at 4pm to go home.

Keith and I watered our neighbour's garden and sat and enjoyed the view again. Overhead big grey clouds gathered but despite the wind getting up and a faint smattering of rain we didn't have a storm. We sat in the conservatory for a while to plan our meals for next week and had a drink to cool off before preparing dinner of roast chicken and salad.

Everything is looking really dusty and dry at the moment. A big downpour of rain would be wonderful!
