Sun-soaked Sunday!

Today has been glorious - very warm with long sunny spells and a delicious breeze. We took Sophie and Mike to work and Heather's and on the way home I dropped Keith off at Pitsford as he was going to walk home. The reservoir was packed with people cycling and walking and the car-park, so empty during the week, was almost full.

I returned home, finished peeling the potatoes for dinner and then did a stack of ironing. Keith and I had talked about going to the pub at lunchtime but I just knew it would be busy, and probably full of screaming children, so we decided to stay at home in the peace of our garden. We sat out for as long as we could stand it but it did grow very warm and I could feel my arms burning a bit! We sometimes under-estimate the power of our British sun!

After an afternoon spent doing very little Keith and I went to collect Sophie from work and called in to see Maureen and to ask about her recent holiday in Thailand. She'd had a fantastic, if very busy, time and glowed with a lovely tan.  Sophie looked hot and bothered so after picking up Mike we headed home and turned the aircon on to cool her down!

Dinner tonight was perhaps not the best choice for such a warm and sunny day - roast lamb - but it was delicious nonetheless. Needless to say we could smell barbecues going on all around us. Make the most of it!
