Rat trap!

It was lovely to know that we could all have a lie-in this morning but I was awake and up by 7.30am and enjoying my first coffee of the day.

The weather looked a bit miserable first thing and last night we had torrential rain and wind which was surprising after such a nice day. Of course, we are entering the period of April showers now when the sky can get very dramatic!

When I was in the kitchen this morning I saw the rat again and Keith rushed out to the garden and started brandishing our hoe about! However, it had long gone so we decided to make buying a trap a priority today. Sophie was not so keen on our plans and has named it Barney but we're adamant we don't want it, or any others, in the garden.

We took Sophie to her nail appointment at 11am and drove over to the Weston Favell Centre as we needed a few things in Tesco. Sophie wants me to make IHOP's Smokehouse Combo breakfast for her birthday tomorrow so I needed more eggs and maple syrup for the pancakes. Mum and Dad are also coming so it looks like it's going to be a busy start to the day!

We went to Wilco's and bought two very powerful looking traps for an extremely reasonable price! Let's hope they work!

We picked up Sophie from the nail salon, drove to Boots for some last minute holiday items and then it was home for lunch. Keith set the two traps in the garden so we spent a lot of the afternoon watching them in case the rat appeared again!

Sue came around for a cup of tea later in the day and we polished off the remaining chocolate and raspberry muffins. The weather changed from dry and sunny to heavy downpours with very dark skies. It's certainly April!
