Our green and pleasant land?

The Met Office published photos of the UK in May and July of this year to show how the drought has affected the greenery of our beautiful country. I have never seen the grass look so yellow and dry. I can vaguely remember the heatwave of 1976 when reservoirs dried up and the soil had huge cracks, but that was a long time ago!

We've put a big bowl of water out for the birds who love to drink from it and Bluie, our resident wood pigeon, loves to bathe in it as well, ruffling his feathers and strutting about!

We think that when it does rain, it's going to be horrendous as the ground is so dry it'll just run off. I expect floods!
