A "Hangover" breakfast

None of us were hungover this morning although I did have a slight headache, probably from mixing vodka with Champagne!

The first day of the new year dawned cloudy and grey, and noticeably colder. We all woke up a bit late but by 12.30pm we were ready to walk up to the pub. That decision didn't go down well with Mikey who thought we were going to drive!

It was lovely to get out and have some fresh air and a bit of exercise. The pub wasn't as busy as I thought it would be and we were taken to our table straight away. There were several breakfasts on offer and the children and I went for the big breakfast while Keith opted for a slightly smaller version. He does this because he knows that he'll get a few items rejected by the kids!

Neighbours of ours were sitting at an adjacent table so we said hello and wish each other a Happy New Year. I still find it hard to believe that Christmas is over! The food was lovely but it did feel a bit strange to be eating breakfast so late and accompanied by beer! We weren't in the pub long and it had emptied out by the time we left at 2pm.

Walking back we passed Sue and Paul and their dogs who were also bound for the pub. The wind had grown colder and it was lovely to get home and relax in the warm with the last episode of "And Then There Were None"!
