Bird watching...

We watched a programme last week about nature in the city which was fascinating, but over the last few days I've realised that wildlife is truly everywhere. I put some cooked potatoes down for the crows in our car park today and was amazed to see one of them carrying a huge piece over to our grassy area and then hide it under some moss for later.

Back home, we have some starlings nesting under the eaves of our neighbour's house and it was amazing to see the mother (or maybe father) starling go off to get more food and then return to an insistence squawking!

It's easy to go about our daily lives without giving a thought for nature all around us, but it really is rewarding to just stop and listen for a few moments and see what's going on under our noses!
