A sociable evening

I woke Sophie before I left for work this morning and she said she'd had a great night's sleep and felt much better. What a relief!

When I arrived at work, I was given a beautiful orchid in a pot and some chocolates as a thank you for dealing with the extremely difficult callers on Monday and Tuesday. We had all been given the gifts from our MD, which was a lovely touch and totally unexpected! The morning was very relaxed as it was just Kathy, Shirley and me in the office, and it was so quiet and pleasant! If only every day were like this!

As is usual on a Friday, it was heaven to escape at 4pm and head home to look forward to the weekend. Sophie and I were going to see Sue tonight at her house, so we showered and changed, and Keith kindly acted as our taxi driver so we could have an Aperol Spritz or two!

We sat and chatted while Sue put the finishing touches to dinner. Sue asked Sophie to make the cocktails, and they were delicious! It was great to catch up over a lovely main meal of sausages, mash and vegetables, and Sue had made a gorgeous berry fruit crumble for dessert with custard. A perfect meal for a cold November night!

We managed, somehow, to make room for cheese and biscuits, and Keith picked us up at 10pm. We explained to Sue we were both shattered after the drama of the last few days and had to be up to drive to Southampton tomorrow.

Keith collected us, we drove home and then it was time for bed. Bliss!
