Two days in one...

Monday was a fairly uneventful day at work - we seem to be quietening down now, and after the first rush of calls, it does get easier. Sheila gave me the holiday playscheme places to put onto the system, so that should keep me busy all week!

Boris Johnson appeared this evening to give his announcement about the easing of restrictions and, as we expected, they have been delayed for a month, until the 19 July. As the news had already been leaked over the last week, there was no surprise at all. The Delta variant (Indian one) is now on the rampage and infections are rising, but deaths and hospitalisations are not.

The weather has been very warm today, but thunderstorms and rain are forecast for the middle and latter part of the week. The gardens do need some rain!

On Tuesday I managed to put lots more playscheme places onto the system and reached week six, so I was very pleased about that. I just hope that nothing happens to jeopardise them going ahead. It would be unthinkable!

Keith barbecued this evening, and we enjoyed marinated chicken, burgers and lovely meaty sausages. It was the perfect evening to barbecue - warm and sunny with clear blue skies. The fan is certainly coming in useful at the moment at night, as it's very sticky and uncomfortable!
