Pootling about...

It was great to have a little lie-in this morning and look forward to a day off. Sophie still didn't feel any better, so I advised her to take it easy. We all felt that she should take the week off to fully recover from what has been a nasty infection. I did wonder whether she has covid as there's a new variant doing the rounds, and we've become a bit complacent.

I spent the day pootling about, doing housework and catching up with jobs. We had the normal Wednesday chores to do but it was a relaxed day, and I managed to get some washing out on the line to dry. There was talk of going out in the afternoon to wash Sophie's car but in the end we decided not to! Sophie had a nap, which I think was much-needed!

In the afternoon it clouded over, but when Keith barbecued in the evening, it was dry, so that was a bonus! We enjoyed burgers and sausages but I have to confess I'm getting a little fed up of barbecues already, and it's not technically the summer yet!

We came up with a list of meals until Sunday, but it's still a chore trying to decide what to have every evening. If ever I won the lottery and was rich, I'd hire a private chef to take care of the cooking!
