Hooray! It's Friday!

Sophie initially felt she had to return to work at the end of the week, but decided to take today off. She was feeling better and had more energy but thought it wise to shake off this infection completely.

I had a busy shift at work. I cleared all the emails, added new films to the system, and made more progress with the moan report. Time flew by! After work, I had to go to the library in Brixworth to send off an unwanted work item. I asked Sophie if she wanted to come with me for a little break from the house, and she readily agreed. I collected her, and we drove over.

The countryside, after all the recent rain, looked beautiful with everything in bloom. Some fields were yellow with rapeseed, and cow parsley was flourishing in the hedgerows. It truly is a lovely time of year.

We sent off the parcel and then stopped at the ultra-busy Co-op to buy ice cream. I have no idea why the shop moved premises in the village, as the car parking is horrendous. Most people choose to dump their cars on the busy road outside the shop, making pulling out dangerous.

We bought some ice creams and a tub of Ben & Jerry's Fish Food and headed home. Sophie was looking forward to a glass of wine before dinner and some nibbles. We watched the last episode of our latest Come Dine With Me and then switched to Netflix for a riveting documentary about the online dating site, Ashley Madison, which had been hacked in 2015. As the people using the site were married and for people looking for extra-marital affairs, you can imagine the consequences! Sadly, the release of confidential information even led to suicides, but the dating site is still in business! Unbelievable!

We had a cooked roast chicken for dinner with roasted vegetables and savoury rice for dinner and then relaxed with the remainder of the episodes. The cats drifted in and out; they love the conservatory doors being open so they can come and go!
