A cold walk

I was awake at 6am this morning and spent a very pleasant couple of hours drinking coffee and watching The Affair and the ending of Delicious, both of which were excellent. Outside it was foggy and looked very cold indeed!

After dropping Sophie off at work, Keith and I went for a walk and managed four miles. We walked up to the village (and were shocked by the driving we witnessed on the way) and along the stony track as the gate was open, which was a bonus. I do miss going this way but since the land has been used to graze sheep the farmer is not keen on walkers using this path.

The ground was a bit frozen which made it easier but once we were in the woods, the grass was boggy and wet. The only wild animal we saw today was a squirrel in the distance, but for the whole way we heard gunshots so there was obviously a shoot going on nearby. No wonder we didn't see any pheasants!

It was lovely to get home to our warm house and have a cup of tea and something to eat. I spent the afternoon in the conservatory with a snorey Monty and I saw two squirrels in our garden! We now have Cyril and Cheryl! I'm not sure what was going on as one of them was making strange noises and they were both very jittery with their tails twitching like mad!
