A taste of freedom...

This morning Keith had a dental appointment in Leicester. He had been referred by his usual dentist to a practice in the city for possible root canal treatment so as he was unsure of where to go or where to park, I went with him to keep him company.

It was the most beautiful of mornings with mist and hazy sunshine first thing, giving way to blue skies and fluffy white clouds as we headed to Leicester. We'd dropped Mikey off at school and Sophie off at work as she had a driving lesson planned for mid-morning.

We made good time to Leicester and Gladys helped us find the building straight away. We parked nearby and went in search of a coffee shop, but failed to find one, as is always the case! We gave up and went back to the dental surgery which was situated in a gorgeous old Victorian building. I sat and waited in the beautiful  sitting room while Keith was seen to and read some very upmarket magazines...what a difference to my usual dentist!

Within about twenty minutes he was finished so we headed home, calling into Wistow Rural Centre on the way as I was desperate for a cup of coffee by now! We'd never been here before but it was a lovely little place with a garden centre, art gallery and cafe serving lovely coffee and pastries. We enjoyed a coffee and a cheese scone and I sat there hoping upon hope that soon I would be like the other ladies in the cafe sitting enjoying a morning coffee without work to think about!

Before we went and picked Sophie up from work, we returned Mikey's costume to the hire shop and I had a look for a Disney princess dress for Fiona's Come Dine With Me in a few weeks. I'm planning to go as the princess from the film Brave and wanted a long green velvet dress.

We collected Sophie from work and returned home where we spent a very enjoyable afternoon doing not much at all! The beautiful blue skies gave way to storm clouds and we had a shower of rain in the late afternoon that put a stop to a walk over the fields!
