Testing times...

Keith popped to Tesco this morning to get some shopping for the weekend, and bought me a new Gin to try, Haysmith's Blood Orange and Wild Berry. Aldi have a large selection on offer, and all the bottles are really pretty - definitely designed to catch the eye!

The weather has been very showery and wet today, with torrential rain first thing, but no thunderstorms, sadly. We could see the garden heaving a sigh of relief as the rain came down!

Apart from taking Mum's jumper back to her, and buying some kidney beans and a red pepper to go into tonight's chilli at the nearby Co-op (where I also bought more Spring bulbs), Keith and I didn't go out again today. This will change next week when Sophie is also on holiday, and we have various things planned. I have enjoyed chilling out at home, though, and enjoying the new kitchen!

Both of us took a lateral flow test today as news of Ian's positive test is all over the local Facebook pages. Keith said he had a headache, which is unusual for him, so we did the tests and they were both negative. I didn't realise that you can get a free PCR test if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, so if we do show any symptoms over the next few days, we'll get a PCR test organised. Although the bar staff tested negative using the lateral flow tests, these aren't as efficient, apparently, so there is a slight worry about the staff who were serving us in the pub yesterday, especially as they had been with Ian.

Keith was unable to go to the pub tonight, although I did offer to drive him to The White Swan in Holcot. He took care of dinner (I'd chopped up the onion and pepper) while Sophie and I sipped our drinks (no wine tonight) and watched Grand Designs, which was much more realistic than last week, and where the owner of the house put in a tremendous amount of work for his family. Their tiny plot of land was squeezed in between a busy road and a railway line, but the finished house looked gorgeous.

After dinner, we watched the last two episodes of The White Lotus and this will definitely go down as one of our favourites, up there with Big Little Lies and Desperate Housewives. It was quirky, fun and we loved the background music. Will there be a second series? We hope so!
