Mother Nature

I awoke this morning to the news about the volcanic ash cloud that is set to spread over the UK and has grounded hundreds of flights that were due to take off today. I really feel for people who were due to fly out on holiday today or even tomorrow and who were looking forward to getting away and having a break.

Mother Nature has a way of stopping all of us in our tracks and making us see that, as much as we like to think we're in charge of the planet, we have no control whatsoever when it comes to natural events such as hurricanes, volcanoes or just bad weather. I understand that the way we live has implications for the planet, but I also believe it will adapt and change to whatever we throw at it.

Today has been pretty uneventful but we did manage to get a lot done before the children arrived at work! Most of it was to do with finances so it was good that we had a period of peace and quiet!
