Fresh meat!

I was working with Jo today, and we had a busy shift, answering many phone calls, mostly about swim times and whether customers needed to book, information that can be readily found on our website!

At 2pm, I sped home and sat with Sophie to chat about her weekend away. She had brought some goodies home with her, so we sat, had a cup of tea, and caught up. It was a gorgeous afternoon of sunshine, blue skies and white fluffy clouds. Why couldn't it have been like this yesterday?

I was pleased to get some jobs completed this afternoon: we sorted out the doors and windows in the conservatory by using WD40 on the locking mechanisms, and put up our two new pictures that we bought in Alfama, in Lisbon. They're at the bottom of the stairs so we'll be reminded of our break every time we go downstairs! I also sewed a button onto my work trousers so it felt good to get some little jobs done.

At 6.30pm we settled ourselves down to watch the new series of Masterchef, which is celebrating 20 years in its current format (before that Loyd Grossman was at the helm and the programme was very different). We love the first programmes with the newbies all trying to impress Greg and John! Fresh meat! We had our list of culinary terms ready and within the first hour, we'd had two contestants crying, a panna cotta, a tuille, a gel and a new term, granola! This, I think, replaces a crumb!

Our dinner tonight was a delicious beefy casserole that we should have had last night. Sophie and I opened a magnum of red wine to accompany the meal - we didn't drink it all!
