Sophie and I watched Saturday Kitchen with a coffee and a pastry, and I have to admit to being irritated by Floella Benjamin (sorry, Dame Floella Benjamin) who insisted on telling Matt Tebbutt how to cut up a mango and then told one of the chefs she didn't like his food. She was a bit patronising, in my opinion!
After we'd had enough of the show, we booked an Airbnb about an hour away from Calais for the June holiday so that's all done now. Sophie washed Olive and hoovered both cars before hoovering and mopping downstairs. I sorted the box of ornaments but I didn't have the motivation to put anything on eBay today. There is so much faffing about with measurements and postage prices and we have no boxes or bubble wrap at the moment to post them off, if they do sell! I might just take it all to the charity shop!
Keith went to see Sileby play this afternoon and I put on a clay face mask that made me look like I'd had way too much sun! When I took it off, though, my skin glowed and felt smooth and soft. I'll try and apply it three times a week!
Keith arrived home from seeing the football match and Sophie and I sat in the kitchen and played Scrabble. I absolutely thrashed Sophie this evening and she was not amused, I can tell you! She hates to lose! We then played cards and Keith and I both won a game so she refused to play anymore... ha! While we were sitting chatting, we discussed a trip to Normandy for my birthday again next year and perhaps another city break for Sophie and me in March. We talked about Oslo, Helsinki, Funchal in Madeira and Riga. We both want to go to a different country and as I have 1% of Norwegian DNA flowing through my veins, I think I'd like to go!
Which reminds me, I have been given an updated ethnicity of my DNA. I am:
34.6% English
20.2% Scottish and Welsh
12.2% Dutch
8.8% Danish
7.9% Breton
6.8% French
5.4% Germanic
3.1% Irish
1.0% Norwegian
I don't know why Breton is separated from French? More Celtic perhaps? But it looks like I am a real mongrel!
Keith received his DNA analysis and has Portuguese in his makeup!
We enjoyed a delicious curry for dinner and then we settled down to watch Casino Royale for about the 100th time. Bliss!
