The day we'd been dreading at work arrived and I was in the office by 7.30am. I managed to log onto the upgraded system but hit a glitch when Kathy came in at 9am and also logged on, kicking me off in the process! Sheila then explained I needed to log in under my own name, rather than a generic log-in so it was sorted. Our MD made a flying visit to make sure things were going well, but by 10am chaos reigned! There were five of us answering calls and they quickly mounted up once the phone lines opened, mainly for class bookings. The noise was tremendous! I answered calls until things calmed down, as there had been almost 100 emails sitting waiting for me this morning!
Although it was a busy day, it wasn't as bad as we feared and the small glitches will be sorted out in the next few days. I had taken Sophie's car to work today and it was great to drive home in the daylight and look forward to catching up with her. I hoped she'd managed to have a nap! She had made my lunch and the porridges for tomorrow so that was a bonus, but I don't think she enjoyed her wellbeing day. She was still tired and looked a bit pale.
As soon as I arrived home we had to dash out again to take Mum some items she needed. Sophie and I went up to see my parents to find the mobile almost dead. I plugged it into the charging unit and turned up the volume so hopefully Mum will be able to hear me a little better.
Back home, it was definitely time to relax, have a drink and play cards. Keith had prepared a delicious corned beef, potato and onion stew and we enjoyed it with lots of vegetables. Delicious!
