Sophie was still tired this morning, so we sat and enjoyed a coffee and watched Michael Portillo in Portugal. I didn't know it, but it was a lovely start to a stressful day at work.
We were expecting yesterday to be difficult but it wasn't. Today was worse! There were only three of us in, and once Angela had managed to log in, the calls had built up so I was helping out. We discovered a few more glitches and people had more trouble with our upgraded booking system today than yesterday. We have members who love our exercise classes, and they are enormously popular, so we had to help book people onto them, and then try to sort out the app for them to book online.
There was no let-up with the phone calls or emails all day and we felt drained by 4pm, and more than ready to go home! It was a lovely, sunny afternoon with mild temperatures and I couldn't even look forward to taking tomorrow off... I'm back in at 8am!
Back home, I pootled about, made lunches and the porridges and felt generally grumpy! It was nice to relax with a drink before dinner, though, and play cards while listening to music. This always works!
