An evening treat!

Tonight the four of us went to the pub for a meal which made a welcome change from cooking and trying to please everyone!

The pub was quiet but we saw a couple of old friends who we've known for almost 20 years so it was lovely to catch up with them and hear their news. Sophie and I had been to the gym beforehand so we were very hungry, and all four of us started with cheesy garlic bread. For our mains Mikey chose lasagne, Keith went for his usual - fish and chips - while Sophie and I opted for the pork escalope with a cheese and ham sauce which was delicious. It was lovely to sit and relax and not argue over who was doing the washing up for once! The main topic of conversation was deciding what to do for the next holiday ( we can dream) and Mikey's antics at Army Cadets, of which the less said the better!

Mikey and I found room for dessert while Sophie sipped on a creamy hot chocolate and we all agreed that it was a great meal. I do love this old pub - for me it's always like being at home with added extras!
