Work passed in a blur of emails again, and before I knew it, it was 4pm and time to go home and start the weekend. I slowed right down as we drove towards the estate, but there was no sign of a little black cat, thank goodness. Before Sophie came home, I called and called him. Keith had only seen Mooney today, who is never far from home, bless him.
When Sophie arrived home, we walked up to the green, but Mooney followed us, so we didn't want to venture out onto the road. Our neighbour, Lynn, was gardening and came over to talk to us, saying she'd seen a black cat a little while ago in her garden. We were convinced it was Gomez, and Sophie swore she heard him miaow from the bushes.
Another neighbour came by with her dogs and said she would keep a lookout, as she often sees the cats in the field behind her house. We returned home, and minutes later she knocked on the door as she'd seen Gomez in the field, having the time of his life. Sophie went to her house with her and said it was definitely our little wanderer!
Keith went to the pub, and Sophie and I settled down to watch Before Sunrise with a glass of Crozes Hermitage. The film was lovely, and there are two sequels to enjoy as well!
Dinner was a delicious chilli with rice, and after we'd eaten, Gomez returned! There was then a mass love-in with Sophie, who was delighted to see him home safe and sound!
