We had a big meeting taking place at work this morning, so our office was a hive of activity as the managers arrived and then disappeared down to our Dance Studio. Twenty people were attending, and I was glad I wasn't in there, as several had colds, and I'm sure the germs would have had a field day! A couple of people I know have covid again, so it's doing the rounds! There are a couple of new variants, and I just hope none of us catch it again!
I escaped at 2pm and returned home, where Kym, our chiropodist, was already seeing to Keith. I'm just glad he had stayed at home! Once he was done, Kym sorted out my feet for me and we had a good chat, as always. She's so easy to get on with and I look forward to her visits!
The rest of the afternoon sped by, and we looked forward to a meal out in the pub this evening. We'd booked a table for 7.30pm and when we arrived the place was heaving. Our pub seems very popular at the moment!
Because there were so many people in the bar, we moved to our table in the snug straightaway and perused the menu. Sophie and I ordered a bottle of Chardonnay to share, while Keith stuck to Beavertown Brewery's Neck Oil, which is the only beer he likes that is available. This is our only gripe about the pub, the lack of decent ale.
Sophie and I shared starters of pigs in blankets, Turkish flatbread with houmous and halloumi bites. We then enjoyed chicken burgers for a main course. Keith indulged in a starter of whitebait, followed by cod and chips. Tonight, we didn't find any room for desserts!
It was a lovely evening and we had a good laugh, reminiscing about the holidays, with Keith and I telling Sophie some funny stories of when we holidayed in Scotland before she was born!
Back home, Keith and I watched half an hour of the last episode of the excellent series, Human, before it was time for bed!
