From Kettering, we drove to Beckworth Emporium, amazed to see the car park full! We wanted to see if we could get our Christmas turkey, and they had lots in the chiller cabinet. Along with the bird, we bought scones and clotted cream as a treat for Sophie and a loaf of fresh bread. I know I've said it before, but the store is rammed with products and I always find it a little overwhelming! People were queuing for the restaurant, and there were loads of people browsing all the different departments, but we paid for our purchases and fled home to have lunch!
I spent the afternoon pootling about and doing the usual Wednesday chores. Plans to get out into the garden and do one last cut of the lawn were put on hold as the weather wasn't great. Tomorrow, we have two warnings in place for wind and rain and a French storm, Benjamin, is due to affect the UK. I think we will have to leave the grass until next Spring now, which isn't a problem. The grass seed I put down a few weeks ago has sprouted, and the dry, straw-like grass of a few months ago is a distant memory!
