By 4pm, things were much more manageable, and the emails were down to single figures, but next week I must finish the moan report and input the October half-term swim camps onto the system. I'm in denial that it's October... what happened to September?
When I emerged at 4pm, the rain was lashing down. Storm Amy had arrived! The wind was also strong, but both cats were out in it; they're complete loons! Keith went to the pub to see John tonight, for the first time in a while and Sophie and I opened a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet, enjoyed cracksters (yes, I still have a few boxes left!) and Pringles and watched Before I Go to Sleep starring Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman. Sophie had read the book while we were in Spain, so she knew the ending. I had also read the book ages ago and knew there was a twist, but I couldn't remember what it was!
The rain and wind continued all evening, and we managed to get the cats in early, thank goodness. Tomorrow, the wind is set to get worse, and we have a Yellow (Possible) weather warning in place. Sophie is supposed to be going to Birmingham to meet a friend, so I just hope the trains will still run!
