Jijivisha

Back at work, I tackled all of the emails and had a pleasant shift until 2pm. I drove home, collected Keith, and he came over to the care home with me. I popped into the shop at Mawsley first to buy some treats for Mum and Dad, but both of them were in a morose mood for my visit today. My Dad's cough was still bad, and one of my Mum's toes was badly swollen. It was not a pleasant visit at all...

Keith and I returned home, sat with a cup of tea and had a chat. This week is flying by again, and I can't believe it's Friday again tomorrow! I've had to book some more holiday at work as the end of the year is rapidly approaching, so I've chosen a couple of days in early November. I would love to go back to St Valery-sur-Somme, which I've fallen in love with, but that may be pushing it a bit too far!

Thinking of yesterday, though, and the relief at the surgery, made me realise we need to live each day to the full, and brings to mind the Hindi word jijivisha - a strong wish or will to live. Yes, there are worrying things to deal with in life, but I'm going to make an effort to embrace each day and enjoy it as much as I can!
