I was hoping to get out and cut the front verge of the garden today, but the wind has been really strong and there would have been no point in trying to sweep up leaves and grass cuttings. By lunchtime, I was pleased with my progress, but I'd been forced to email the council about the figures as I had no idea how they had calculated the contributions.
Taking a break, I enjoyed leftover chilli for lunch, and it was as delicious as last night! Keith had prepared the ingredients for a chicken and pasta soup earlier (we bickered about celery), and I made a start after I'd eaten. The basis of the soup consisted of celery, onions, carrots, garlic and chicken stock, and I let all the ingredients simmer away for the afternoon, filling the house with lovely aromas!
Sophie came home from work, and I blitzed the vegetables in the soup and added cooked, shredded chicken. With some pasta added, it was a delicious meal, and we served it with garlic flatbreads.
Sophie and Keith watched Newcastle play tonight, and they won 5-0 against Crystal Palace. They are doing so well at the moment!
