I was facing a slightly shorter shift at work today, and tackled as many emails as I could in the five hours. Just before I left, I saw a call coming through from my parents, but it wasn't until I went outside that I was able to hear the message: my Mum didn't want to go for her blood test in Corby. I called her and tried to persuade her, but she was adamant, so Keith and I headed home, going to the library at Brixworth on the way to send off my parcels. Today, it wasn't raining!
I made use of the bonus time I had by sorting out lots of jobs that I'd been putting off and doing the usual chores. I even cleaned out the bin! Exciting, eh? I spent the rest of the afternoon formatting my 2015 blog to make it into a book for my parents. This was quite a monumental year, when we sold the business and Mum and Dad rented in Moulton while their new house was being built, so they will enjoy looking back at how busy we all were then!
Sophie came home from work a little early, and for once, the time didn't pass as quickly as it usually does. The evening stretched out nicely, and we had a very light dinner of paté and salad. We watched two MasterChef episodes this evening, but we weren't that interested when the contestants did a shift in a professional kitchen. We added a few terms to our ever-growing list:
As well as:
Cookery
A crumb
Asian or Ethnic background
Influenced by parents or grandparents
A crisp

Neurodiversity/mental health issues
Too much on the plate
We now have:
Home-made pasta (especially in the very first round)
Soil

Fusion
Bon bon
Three ways
A tuile
Scissor-cut noodles
Fondant potatoes
Our old friend, a chocolate fondant
Contestants crying
Being on "a journey"

Cookery is way out in the lead at the moment, with 33 mentions of the word; home-made pasta features heavily, and we've had a fair few tuiles!
