A beautiful Autumnal day!

It was great to have a relaxed start to Sunday and pootle about. Outside, the sun was shining, so I decided to mow the grass verge and sweep up the leaves. Mike texted me to say he was coming over to pick up a couple of letters that had been delivered here, and it was lovely to see him. He told us about his recent trip to Albania and showed us photographs. The country looked beautiful!

Once he had gone, I made a start on the long grass and then weeded the border and swept up hundreds of leaves. Keith cut down one of the bushes for me, and it looked lovely when we'd finished. My work in the garden set off a chain reaction, and one by one our neighbours also ventured out to work in their gardens. Richard stopped in his new, blue Lotus, and I admired the sports car, saying it looked like it belonged on the race track!

I am sure it was forecast to rain today, but it was a gorgeous Autumnal day with blue skies and sunshine. The wind was a little cold, but it was great to be outside, washing windows and window sills, and getting some fresh air.

Sophie did all the usual Sunday chores inside, as we were having leftover Chinese for dinner, so there were no preparations to be done. Perfect!

I spent the afternoon on my laptop, and Sophie sat at the kitchen island with me and read her book. She made us a couple of French Martinis... what a perfect afternoon! Keith settled down to watch Newcastle play Bournemouth but decided to record the match instead. It was a good job he did as it was a dismal 0-0 score!

We ate a little early in the evening and watched the second excellent documentary entitled Living Next Door to Putin with Katya Adler. This week she visited Estonia, Finland and Norway, and it made for fascinating viewing!

We had trouble getting Gomez in tonight, and Sophie called and called him right up until 11pm. I would love to know where he'd been since I let him out at 7.30am this morning!
