I worked with Kathy from 9am until 2pm today, and the shift was busier than expected. By 2pm, both of us were heartily fed up with saying the same thing over and over again, and I reckoned that 98% of our calls could have been answered by customers checking our website. I was very glad to leave and go home!
Sophie had given me a lift in and had gone to do a yoga class at the gym, so she picked me up and we headed home for a late lunch of sandwiches. It was lovely to sit and relax in the kitchen and chat. It was a bit too late to go anywhere, but I have next Bank Holiday Monday off, so maybe we can do something then.
We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing, and I did half an hour's exercise on the bike, listening to Simple Minds, which was very enjoyable and made the time go quickly! Outside, the lovely weather turned cloudy and, briefly, the sky went dark! It has been a lot cooler over the weekend, but we've still seen the lovely sunshine.
Sophie made the sweet and sour chicken dish this evening, and I cooked the rice for her. The meal was delicious and there was enough left over for lunch on Wednesday. There was a lovely mix of ginger, pineapple and peppers, and we'll definitely cook this again!
