Sophie didn't go to the gym this morning, as she wanted to look after Gomez, who was feeling much better and full of beans. He couldn't wait to get out! We sat and watched the end of Race Across The World with a coffee.
I made up with Sara today after she said again that I was on holiday for two and a half weeks! I protested loudly (I've just booked the extra day off!) and she said I deserved it as I worked so hard. Hmmm! I had another busy shift as the clock is ticking and there are still things I need to do before I go, the moan report being one of them!
Keith collected me at 2pm, I dropped him off at home, and went to pick up my mum, who was in a strop about something that had happened earlier. We sped over to Northampton to have her nails done, despite my threat to go somewhere else. I just haven't had the time to find another nail salon. At least today, the broken glass and rubbish had been cleared away!
It was warm and muggy in Natalia's little room, and I almost dropped off! I took my Mum back, and her mood hadn't improved at all, despite having her nails painted a beautiful pink. She also had her hair done this morning, lucky thing!
I dropped her off and returned home, but I had arranged to collect a cat tower from a house in the village, so I went to collect that. The woman I was buying it from had left it outside, and I carried the heavy, unwieldy thing down a flight of steps, praying I wouldn't trip and break my leg! We are firmly in the danger zone now, and I dread one of us getting ill, having an accident or something happening to the car...
I plonked the cat tower in the back of the car and drove home. Sophie arrived minutes after me and wasn't that impressed with the item, which was covered in fur and dirty. I put three of the cushions straight into the sink with laundry detergent and wiped a cloth over the rest of the tower to clean it up a little. Not really what I wanted to do after a long day! I just hope they use and enjoy it!
Before dinner, we sat and chatted about our days, and Sophie described her volunteering day at an allotment in Wellingborough. They spent all day there, and she said it was warm and muggy. It's set to get hotter tomorrow! Phew!
