An important meeting

Sara was back today after her two days off last week, and she was in a foul mood, hardly saying a word to Sheila or me, which made for an uncomfortable atmosphere in the office. She then called another of my colleagues and moaned that she had no cover for me while I'm away "for over two weeks." I was astounded! I booked this holiday last July and explained why I was taking the extra Monday off: so we could have a wonderful chance to see the Tour de France on the Sunday! I really wouldn't relish getting home late on Sunday night after a long day and going to work the next day!

We then had some wrangling about who was going to an important meeting today - both Jo and I wanted to go, but we hadn't brought our cars to work, so it was finally decided that Sheila would take us. Phew! It was a relief to escape at 1.30pm and go to another of our centres across town. We arrived in good time and took our seats, and I found myself in the front row, which I hadn't intended!

The meeting was about changes taking place next year and was very good and positive. I asked a couple of questions, but there weren't as many queries as I'd hoped there'd be. Our MD was very honest and informative, so it's just a question of us waiting and seeing what happens.

The meeting finished earlier than we'd expected, so we drove back to work for the remaining half hour. Needless to say, Sara's mood hadn't improved!

Back home, I pottered about until Sophie came home, Keith prepared the dinner, and we had a relaxed evening. We watched the last riveting episode of The Black Forest Murders. I wish there were more episodes!
