Just before midday we drove over to the bank and paid some £1 and £2 coins into our joint bank account. Keith has been saving them up for ages and we decided that we needed to do something with them, so we've been putting them through the coin machine in Natwest and then paying them into our account.
From the bank we drove to Jones's, somewhere we haven't been for ages, and bought some things we needed. To be honest, Jones's is no longer as cheap as it used to be and we're finding that Wilko or even Tesco have comparable prices. The wholesaler was full of garden equipment and outdoor furniture and we spotted a lovely bench seat. The one we have at the moment is way past its best, and is covered in bird poo from where the birds use it as a perch! I can't wait to get out into the garden when the weather improves and tidy up!
I tried to get my Dad's car washed today but the carwash we went to was closed so we drove home. It was a good thing, as in the afternoon, the previously lovely weather clouded over and we had some rain.
The afternoon was busy with preparing dinner - homemade chicken Kyiv - and doing lots of jobs, such as sorting out the laundry and vacuuming downstairs. There's always something to do! Sophie was very pleased when she came home that I had made my lunch and the porridge for the morning, so I was definitely in her good books!
