I walked into work this morning to discover that our man of yesterday had left a bag in the car park, and it contained beer cans, heart medication, an ECG and leaflets from the ambulance service with written notes regarding a visit to him. The man was obviously in need of medical help so we hope that last night he found somewhere warm and safe to stay. I called the police and reported seeing him, and told them that we had his bag, so I only hope they manage to find him. It was very sad.
We were all sad about what we'd seen, and it really brought it home to me how some people can suffer even though we're supposed to be a rich country. It seems incredible that there are homeless people who have nowhere to call home in this day and age!
The rest of the day passed quietly and it was lovely to look forward to a day off tomorrow. Keith was out watching Sileby play this evening, and I made him wrap up as it was still bitterly cold outside! Sophie and I had last night's leftovers of chicken casserole and dumplings, washed down with a very good white Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
We watched a very silly film called Deadly Illusions starring an aged Dermot Mulroney, and then an interesting programme about Morman missionaries. Sophie and I both agreed that the religion seemed more like a cult and was very restrictive, and a bit sinister! In their defence, they do have a fantastic genealogy website and have helped me in the past with family tree problems!
Keith came back from a Sileby local derby (they were playing Moulton) looking chilled to the bone!
