Mike appeared mid-morning and was picked up by Abbie so we didn't have to give him a lift into town. It was lovely to see him, and even better knowing he was coming so we could plan! Sophie busied herself with preparing the dinner for the evening (breaded pork escalopes with vegetables) and we both did some housework as well, so it was a busy morning!
In the afternoon we took Mum to Tesco at Kettering so she could do some shopping, and we popped over to the Costa café and had a coffee before taking her back. We drove the scenic route home and the sunset was gorgeous. I really love to see the stark outlines of the trees against the sky. It was a shame that yesterday couldn't have been sunny, but the next few days are set to be cold and clear with blue skies and sunshine.
Back home it was time for Scrabble, and amazingly, I beat Sophie again! We enjoyed a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet while we played and the wine went very well with the pork escalopes, which were delicious and served with mash and cheesy broccoli and cauliflower.
I didn't have Sunday syndrome this evening - I'm not on the phones tomorrow and am looking after the customer service emails as Sara is away. Yippee!
