Hearts and flowers

Today was another busy one first thing, but it did quieten down towards lunchtime, so that was a relief! I arrived home to find a huge bouquet of flowers for Sophie from Vikesh, and she was delighted with them! They were gorgeous and in a big box so no fiddling about with vases.

Sophie and I were cooking a new recipe tonight, with tomatoes, chorizo and gnocchi. The list of ingredients included an onion, which we didn't have, so Keith and I trekked over to Mawsley to get a pack of three. The previously mild temperature had plummeted, going from 12c to 4c in the space of a couple of hours, so it felt very chilly! I told Keith to wrap up at the football!

Back home, it was almost 7pm so Sophie began to cook and by about 7.30pm it was done. The meal was delicious, and the rich, tomatoey sauce was gorgeous with the plump gnocchi. We drank a new Californian wine with the meal, which went with it very well.

After we'd cleared away we sat down to watch An Affair to Remember starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. The outfits she wore in the film were stunning and it was lovely to watch, although Sophie was a bit disappointed in the ending (I'm not giving anything away!). It's certainly a tear-jerker!

Keith arrived home looking frozen to the bone and tucked into some chips that I'd cooked for him!
