Getting things done!

This morning we dropped Sophie off at work and went in to have a cup of coffee and a chat with Maureen. Although it's been almost two years since we sold the business, going into the building and seeing stuff we'd bought or chosen in the past still gives me a twinge of regret, even though I know it was the right thing to do.

Mike had an eye test at 10am at Tesco's so after seeing Polly and Maureen we drove to the Weston Favell Centre and while Mike and I waited in the queue, Keith went off to do some shopping. Mike's eyes were fine but he does need glasses for distance so we picked out two pairs (it was buy one, get one free) and I was very pleased with the reasonable cost for both pairs. I just hope he doesn't lose them!

We treated ourselves to breakfast at the Tesco cafe and then, after getting some diesel for my car, we dropped Mike off at his new place of work! He was a bit nervous!

Back home Keith and I decided to get all of our holiday jobs done. So, over the course of a couple of hours, we completed our ESTAs, bought travel insurance, booked the hotel and parking at Gatwick and even booked the Holiday Inn in Marathon where we'd stayed the last time we were in the Keys. We used JustPark again for the airport parking as the Summer Special quoted us £188 for three weeks, yet JustPark was £85 for the same period and the space was situated on a small business park a short taxi ride from the airport. It has very good reviews so I'm just hoping everything will go smoothly. At least we haven't got to drop the car off on the day we fly!

Keith went off to his last Sileby home game in the afternoon and I pottered about and relaxed. The weather today has been beautiful but all this is set to change next week!

We picked Mike up at 6pm and then sped off to collect Sophie before heading to Kingsthorpe to pick up her headphones from Waitrose. After a delicious dinner of beef casserole we settled down to watch Patriot Games with Harrison Ford and Sean Bean. I'd seen it before but it was still an excellent film!
