Two days in one

Thursday

It felt a bit strange starting work at 10:00am, but Keith dropped me off, and my shift passed pleasantly. We were very quiet indeed, and poor Macy, with whom I was working, had hardly anything to do. I had plenty to keep me occupied! We were on our own in the afternoon, as Sara was working from home (her grandson was ill) and Nicola went to a meeting at our new gym, so it was a relaxed afternoon.

After dinner this evening, Keith and I watched a new crime drama set in Canada, starring Jacqueline Joubert, who was in Death in Paradise. I'm still undecided as it didn't grip me!

Friday

I was on my own first thing as Sara's little grandson is still very poorly and in hospital. I was answering the phones with Kathy today, and it wasn't as bad as I feared, as the number of calls has dropped dramatically. In between taking calls, I dealt with all the emails and wrote some more of the moan report.

It was lovely to escape at 4:00pm and go home. Keith went to the pub, as usual, and Sophie and I opened a bottle of Viognier, which we were unsure of... we had one glass and then put the cork back in and switched to the Mallorcan red Sophie had bought in Duncan's last Saturday. This time, it tasted a lot better and went well with the corned beef, potato and onion hash that Keith had prepared. I sometimes think that giving a disappointing wine a day or two to breathe helps!

We finished the wine and watched Amanda and Alan in Sicily; a great end to a busy week!
