Changing plans

I saw Sophie off to work for her "company day" and caught up with some important jobs before going to see my GP for a follow-up appointment after my blood test. He said that my results had improved and asked me to make another appointment for a blood test in August. I am hoping that things will be greatly improved by then! Before going home, I called into the nearby chemist and asked for some advice about my heel. The woman behind the counter suggested co-codamol and I also bought a tube of freezing gel to apply. I just hope that these two things work!

We returned home for lunch and then popped to Tesco, where I bought a few bits and bobs. We called into the care home to see Mum for an hour, and she was in a despondent mood today. I didn't say that Sophie and I were going to Vienna as I didn't feel it was fair. I sat with her and chatted before returning to the car and heading home, feeling a little sad and depressed, to be honest.

The weather had been a real mixed bag today with heavy showers and brilliant sunshine, and it's felt cold. Unfortunately, the weather for Vienna is looking horrible, with rain every day we're there, which isn't ideal! I think the Eurovision Village is all outdoors, so we might have to rethink our plans for Saturday night if it's pouring! The temperatures are set to hover around the mid-teens, so I had to repack my suitcase and take out the dresses, to replace them with warmer clothes and jeans...

Sophie came home and told us all about her day over drinks in the kitchen. It had been a tiring day for her and she was glad it was over. She was overjoyed to get the cats in early, and ignored them when they cried to go out! We had a simple supper of prawn salad and then it was time for an early night, with the alarm set for 2am!
