A breakfast treat

I woke this morning, still feeling awful about leaving early yesterday, but there was no point in dwelling on it. We both resolved to think carefully about booking tickets for arenas in the future! Luckily, when we go to Berlin to see Ben, it's an outdoor, amphitheatre-type venue!

As a treat, we decided to take up Sophie's suggestion of breakfast out, and we went to the old Buddies Diner near junction 15 of the M1. The restaurant was pleasantly busy, and we took a table by the window. Sophie ordered Eggs Royale, Keith chose the Chicago breakfast, and I opted for the veggie breakfast. We had unlimited coffee to enjoy, which is always a bonus!

The food was great, and I loved my veggie sausages, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, potatoes and fried eggs. Keith cleared his plate, and Sophie enthused over her salmon, eggs and Hollandaise sauce. We lingered afterwards with a coffee, then paid the bill and drove to Waitrose to buy the Sunday newspaper and lunches for tomorrow.

The rest of the day was spent lazily, and it was great. I had a nap in the conservatory, Keith watched sport, and Sophie read her book. In the early evening, we gathered in the kitchen, and Sophie and I played Scrabble. We enjoyed Negronis, and I beat my daughter for once! That doesn't happen very often!

We were all full from breakfast, so we only had a snack for our evening meal. This, for me, is the perfect way of eating. A filling breakfast that sets you up for the rest of the day!
