Laundry day!

Today I tackled my Dad's clothes that we'd brought home with us the other week. Because of the wake, I'd stored them in the garage, but I wanted to wash and dry them and then take them to a homeless shelter next Wednesday. Sophie had already called to ask if they took donations, and I wanted someone to benefit from his lovely clothes, which included much-needed items such as underwear, socks, jogging bottoms, tee-shirts, and warm jumpers.

So, our kitchen resembled a laundry today as we gradually worked our way through the piles of washing. I dreaded how much it was costing us in electricity, but there was no other way to get the clothes dry.

Sophie put the hoover around, and we put the conservatory back to normal after the wake. In between washing, I wrote my blog and kept busy with other small jobs that needed doing, such as writing out Christmas cards. The festive season has taken a bit of a back seat recently, but I was determined to get my cards written and posted by the start of the week.

Luckily, we had no complicated dinner plans today, and Sophie and I managed to have a face mask and watch an episode of A Place in the Sun, something we haven't done for ages! When we'd both had lovely hot showers, we went out to deliver the cards to our neighbours. Mooney was nowhere to be seen, but amazingly, Gomez came with us! He was in high spirits and gambolled about miaowing. We went ahead at one point, and he started yowling because he couldn't see us! On the way back to the house, he leapt over a low fence like a stag! He certainly has tons of energy!

Back home, we decided to relax and watch a Christmas film, Deck The Halls, starring Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito. It was warm and cosy in the living room, and I think we all fell asleep at one point!

After the film, we ordered a Chinese takeaway, and it arrived very quickly this evening, taking us all by surprise! As ever, it was delicious, and there was a tub of chow mein for me to enjoy for my lunch tomorrow at work!
