A busy Monday

It felt so dark driving to work this morning! This was my penultimate day in my office, and if I'm honest, I am dreading moving to the new place on Thursday. I have estimated it will add two hours to my commute every week, and plans for Keith to drop me off on two days have been shelved, as it will cost us a fortune in petrol, and it would mean a round trip of almost 50 miles. Plus, I don't want him driving through town at the height of the school hour rush (which I call the Witching Hour... and I was once a school run mum myself!). And don't get me started on paying for parking, which will be a shock to the system...

I had a busy day at work, helping out with phone calls first thing, as emails had gone out to parents with junior memberships, telling them what was happening next year and giving them some options. Some parents couldn't be bothered to read the email and called us, demanding to know what was going on.

The day flew by, and I was mightily glad when it was 4pm, and I could go home! I relaxed and enjoyed three of my whiskies while chatting with Keith and Sophie in the kitchen. We enjoyed a scrumptious steak pie for dinner with carrots, Brussels sprouts and mashed spuds for dinner. We haven't had mashed potatoes for ages!

After dinner, it was lovely to sit and watch Nigella Lawson's Christmas in Amsterdam, available on BBC iPlayer. It was perfect viewing so close to the big day, but where is this month going? It's whizzing by!
