At 4pm I drove home and lounged about until 6pm. Sophie and I had been invited out with our friend, Michelle, to Sue's house in Kettering, so we had showers, and Sophie curled my hair a bit for me. It's really long now, and thick, so it feels warm in the temperatures we've been experiencing lately. Not that I'm complaining of course!
Michelle's husband, Richard, took us over to Kettering so we could all enjoy a glass of wine, and Keith had agreed to bring us back as he was out watching Sileby play this evening. Sue welcomed us in and her new partner, Martyn, scuttled upstairs as soon as we arrived!
We sat and sipped glasses of Pimm's and then sat down for a meal of quiche, salad and new potatoes, followed by chocolate cheesecake and raspberries. The talk around the table was all about the prices of our fuel bills and how expensive everything was in general. We also discussed the fact that Michelle, and the three of us, will be having new neighbours in the near future as Sarah and Liam's house has sold. I wonder if it was the family I spotted last weekend?
The conversation flowed all evening, and Keith came to collect us at about 11pm. Michelle had told us she was now able to look after Monty for a week while we're in Spain so that was a huge relief!
Back home, Sophie and I finished the dregs of a bottle of wine and relaxed before bed. It's the weekend!
