Off to Rome!

Daisy and Laura arrived at 10am this morning to do their final packing in the one case that the girls were sharing (to go into the hold) and to have breakfast before we left at midday.

It's been a drizzly day today with grey skies and a chilly wind but the sun did try and come out when we were driving down to Stansted. We made excellent time but we were mightily annoyed by the extortionate drop-off charges at the terminal. I should have realised something was up when there were signs pointing to "Free Drop-off" but I didn't know that the charges were £3.00 for just ten minutes and if you went over this the charge went up to £50!!

We hurriedly said goodbye to the girls and drove straight back out and onto the M11. The journey home was also smooth and trouble-free although I did glare at a driver behind me at one point who was far too close to my back bumper, and when everything stopped he nearly joined me on the back seat!

We called to see Mum and Dad before going home and within a few minutes had them connected to the Broadband, both on their computer and with the Sky box. They were absolutely delighted and both Keith and I were really pleased we were able to help.

It was great to think we hadn't got to go anywhere in the evening and although Keith suggested a drink at the pub we both decided to stay home and have a drink while catching up with the latest thrilling episode of Neighbours!
