We had a very relaxed start to the day (and the weekend) and didn't do much until the afternoon when Sophie and I went to Market Harborough. The weather has been much colder this morning with light snow flurries first thing! Who would believe it this late in April?!
We made sure we wore coats in Market Harborough but the cold didn't stop us from enjoying milkshakes in Caffe Nero. It's been ages since we chose a cold drink over a hot coffee so maybe Spring is on the way after all!
We had a mooch about the town but neither of us bought anything, amazingly enough! By 4pm we'd had enough and headed home in the sunshine. We'd planned on having a Chinese take-away from the van in the village in the evening but when we went down to order our meal it wasn't there! We had no choice but to order from Brixworth again even though we much prefer the van food. As we were leaving home to call into the pub for a drink we saw two horses walking along the road which promptly left a load of manure on the road! I know that horse waste isn't as offensive as dog waste but there were children playing on the exact spot a couple of hours earlier and I'm sure their parents wouldn't want manure trod into the houses!
We went to the pub and sat in our usual window seat. It was getting busy and a large family group arrived which meant that the small car park became full very quickly. It was amazing to see people trying to get into spaces and then having to back out again, oblivious to the chaos they were causing all around them.
I'm a bit off people at the moment, to be honest. I've never witnessed so many instances of thoughtlessness and ignorance and just plain rudeness as I have lately!
We had a couple of drinks and then headed home to await our take-away delivery. Keith and I both ordered a curry (Chinese one!) and although it was OK, it was extremely salty! Next time we'll just stick to the van!
