Silence of the skies

It was lovely sitting in the garden this afternoon and listening to the sound of silence from the skies. We normally get a lot of planes overhead - at times there can be two or three flying over, but all planes have been grounded until at least tomorrow so it's a real novelty to look up and just see blue sky with no vapour trails.

It has been truly beautiful today - sunny and 18 degrees according to the temperature displayed in the car. We sat on the new seat and it was hot! Because of the warmer weather a lot of the plants have really flourished with lots of new green leaves and the beginning of blossom on the apple tree.

Susie and Vicky arrived and I ferried them all over to the Odeon in Kettering where they saw Dear John. When I went to pick them up the verdict was not good...a weak ending and some very sad moments. They also told me they were told to be quiet in the cinema so it sounds like the squealing and laughing have begun already...wish me luck tonight!
