A quiet Sunday

After a relaxed start to the day, we all trekked over to Tesco to do some shopping. Keith also wanted to recheck the tyre pressures after the warning light came on when we travelled north last week.

Tesco was heaving with people, and if we hadn't realised it was Valentine's Day coming up, we were certainly hit with it in the face! Sophie wanted to buy some gifts for Vikesh and a card for her friend Laura, and I wanted a good bottle of white wine for tonight's meal.

We did what we needed to do as quickly as we could and escaped! As we drove past the Tesco garage, it was busy with people waiting for the air machine so we decided to head to Morrison's garage instead. Here we found, as I had expected, the driver's side front wheel was a fair bit higher than the other three so that could have caused the warning light to come on. Keith released some of the air and we returned home. I think we'll have to visit a VW garage to get the computer reset.

We drove home via Loddington, and the landscape was grey and brown. I'm sure that if you look closely, though the trees and bushes will have buds on them, just waiting to burst into life once it gets a bit warmer!

Back home, we busied ourselves preparing tonight's chicken casserole and enjoyed some Indian snacks for lunch. I was supposed to be seeing my parents this afternoon, but Mum hasn't been feeling well lately so we postponed the visit until next week.

I had a sort out of some books we didn't need and sold them to Ziffit. They were mostly cookery books that we'll never use so we were glad to free up some space on the kitchen shelves!

Sophie cooked the chicken casserole for dinner tonight and it was delicious served with rice and asparagus. Gomez wouldn't come in this evening and he's staying out later and later now. I know for a fact we'll probably never see him when it's spring and summer, but we do like him to be in before 8pm! Eventually, he waltzed in and then joined us on the sofa for a cuddle!
