They then had a fantastic time, sniffing all the bushes and cavorting through the leaves that had fallen from the trees at the back of the garden. Occasionally, they would pop back in to make sure they could come back into the house, and then they were off again. I sent pictures to Sophie at work, and she was delighted that their first visit was such a success. I just wish it had been the summer, though!
While they were out, I managed to wade through a load of chores, and was quite pleased with myself! I contacted a local auctioneer company who might be able to sell some of Mum and Dad's possessions for us. I also registered with Terracycle so I could send off medication blister packs for recycling, mopped the kitchen floor and hoovered, popped the extractor fans in the dishwasher and washed and dried two loads of laundry! Phew!
In the afternoon, Anthony from Highlands came to see us, accompanied by Mike, who deals with windows and doors. We told them about Everest last week and had a good chat. Mike then measured up for the windows and said he would quote for the three that needed doing urgently, and give us prices for the rest, such as the en-suite bathroom window and the cloakroom which aren't as important.
The kitts had been in and out all day but by 3.30pm we decided to keep them in. We're not going to let them out after dark and they were shattered anyway, spending the rest of the afternoon and the evening snoozing! It had been so good to let them out and have some freedom... now I just want them to stop using the litter tray during the day!
